Maria Deligiosi (Gr)

Maria Deligiosi – Greek contestant
I love movies, they inspire me. I never copy other’s work, I rather make my own creations building on some exciting details.I think the biggest advantage of the online competition is that my works reached a lot more people this way and I got to know foreign colleagues.
My Hungarian fellows’ works have really impressed me.
I am still an apprentice, but maybe will soon have the chance to work in an exclusive salon.

Soon the world’s first international online makeup, tattoo, fashion design, body painting and nail art competitions will begin as well.

Soon we will inform you by email about registration and the details of the competition. Stay tuned to hairnet6.com as well.

Vivianne Tran (Au)

Vivianne Tran – Australian contestant
The competition has been a great opportunity for me.

I could present my creativity in front of a multicultural audience.
I was amazed by some of the competitors’ really novel and unique work and by the realization of how many different interpretations there are for the same topic.

The competition offers a great opportunity – you can show the whole world what you are capable of.
If you haven’t competed yet, I strongly recommend not to miss out on it next time.

 Izabella Kozma (Hu) Woman/Master

„I expected to win in the Fantasy category.”
Izabella’s story proves that success does not necessarily depend on location.
She opened her shop in 2002 in Mezőtúr and she had her first significant public competition three years ago. Her career is going upwards.
„Finally a competition, where you are not under time pressure.”
According to her, this is one of the main differences between the online and live competitions.
She had enough time to think in concepts not only in ideas, which often leads astray. She considers the competition a great platform to get introduced, especially for those who are less confident to enter a live competition.
Izabella feels she has achieved her goal: she lived up to her own expectations.

Judit Szénási (Hu) Fantasy/Student

Thanks to the public, Judit is the runner-up in the student category.

Emília is a successful business woman, a salon trainer in Szombathely, Hungary. After she established a strong base, she decided it was time to show what she could do. Competing has brought new energies to her life and taken her out of her daily routine.

She’s happy to have had the chance to show her work on the international stage, and show what she’s the best in. She’s pround of her technique.

Details on: hairnet6.com

“My clients won the contest for me.”

Gyöngyi Varga was the competition’s absolute winner. We spoke with Gyöngyi, who has been working as a hairdresser out of Szeged, Hungary for six years:

“Of course I’m very happy. As a hairdresser I’ve learned to like competitions, which always move me out of my daily routine. My clients often ask what’s new with me. They helped me, really, because they kept on voting for me. I graduated from a two-year hairdressing school and my instructor, Zsuzsanna Szemerédi Tombászné always made us compete. So competition was already a part of me. I’ve competed in teams as well and entered competitions in Germany and Prague.

Now my whole family cheers for me!

We loved the 1-minute votes!

My story isn’t typical: I wanted to be a hairdresser from when I was a little girl. One summer it just came to me: this is what I want to do. So I went looking at salons and along the way I came to like the whole world.

Hairdressing is a profession you have to love – you can’t do it any other way.

I found the hairnet6.com competition when surfing the next. It started me thinking, that this is something new, inspiring, special. It was interesting that here you don’t see the smallest details, we see the competitors’ creations more as a whole. I got the idea for the hat first, and then came the shape and all the rest. It was a bit long, the wait for the results, since during a live competition they give out the prizes right away.
I also looked at what the others did. I really like it when there’s a theme and you can see in the creation how much work went into it. For me the real recognition is from the professional jury, where I came in third. This is a motivating message for me.

I saw that many people attacked me, asking why so many people voted for me, and criticizing me. I think that’s something people shouldn’t spend time dealing with.

For me, who is the ideal client? Someone who has an idea, but accepts my advice and can be convinced as to what really suits them.

What changes in my life now that I won this competition? I’m the one who’s most curious about the answer!”

Gyöngyi Varga

Dear Competitors and Voters!

We would like to present the members of the professional jury for the competition, so you will receive an introduction to one jury member each day in newsletter format.

Akos Bodi (UK - TIGI European Education Director):

Hello!

I’ve been working with TIGI and Anthony Mascolo and his creative team for 15 years now. In the past 10 years TIGI instruction and image-building has become my main activity. While traveling constantly, we prepare our advanced collections and multifaceted promotional and creative materials at the London academy and at BED HEAD Studio, which we share with a large audience via fashion and industry magazines.

General opinion about the photos,

For me, the deciding point in the judging was the balance of the elements. Hair, makeup, clothing, model, photo, pre- and post-work weighed equally in the result. The fact that you entered the competition is already a victory and I hope and wish you all the best in reaching closer to the winning spot in the future.

My opinion of one of the best works:

Women’s master code 363

This is the most tasteful photo of all I’ve seen.

The model suits the concept. The hair and makeup are in balance and the colors harmonize well with the lighting. The clothing and simple background blend together, helping emphasize the simplicity of the image.

For me it was absolutely convincing.

Győző Krizsán (HU Hairmaster)

Congratulations to the competitors and the organizers!

I’m certain that this competition has raised the bar for all of our industry. It shows a different, complete picture of our work.

I’d like to pick out a few.

The hairdresser 298 and student 184 in women’s fashion showed an outstanding color scheme and a clean and harmonized shape.

The master 252 women’s fashion competitor showed a fantastic change, which is real master work!

The master 332 men’s fashion competitor created perfect harmony of today in both color and shape.

The freedom of the fantasy category works presented a huge opportunity for the competitors, which they took wonderful advantage of.

Dear Competitors and Voters,

Many of you didn’t read the competition procedure menu point, so questions have arisen about the competitors who have advanced to the global finals.

The professional jury’s evaluation represents a totally different category from the audience vote. They are completely independent of each other.

Only the audience can vote in the second round for those competitors who advanced based on the audience vote.

Only the professional jury will vote for those competitors’ works which advanced based on the professional jury evaluation.

The first round was a competition within countries.

The winners of the country competitions in the first round advance to the second round separately, based either on the professional jury evaluation or audience vote.

Only one competitor advances to the second round from each country based on the professional jury evaluation, in each category and event.

We announce two separate winners:

1.    Professional winner (category/event)2

2.    Audience vote (world’s most popular hairdresser)
The audience vote is a game, the professional jury evaluates the work with a professional regard.

The first round is a national competition.

The competitors from every country has the same chance – it doesn’t matter how many competitors there are, since the professional jury only advances the first-place winner. If one country has only one competitor in a certain category and event, e.g. USA/student/man’s haircut, the competitor automatically advances.

We are happy to receive your questions, and happy to answer your emails in this regard.

Jury: 12-member international jury:

USA 1 member

Australia 2 members

Greece 4 members

Hungary 5 members

András Gellei (HU)

I am András Gellei, master hairdresser, participating and leading shows, trainings.

Our hairdresser dinasty was found  by György Gellei. He studied the profession in 1935, surrounded by actors and artists in one of the most well known hairdresser salons in the center of Budapest.

He opened his first salon in 1956 in Váci street, where the whole family worked together: my father, my brothers and me.

I opened my first own salon in 1980 in front of Hotel Gellért (GELLEI A GELLÉRTNÉL) that was renovated and works successfully even today.

I opened the new hairdresser salon Gellei in the 1st district, in Attila street no. 81, where we await our new and old clients in a cozy, Mediterranean atmosphere.

In our salons we pay attention to the regular professional formation, where all the workmates, active competirors, professors and master haidressers participate. Everybody is welcome, who is interested in a free consultation about which type of hair and colour would fit her/him. I hope we can greet You soon among our clients. You are very welcome in our salons.

Our aim is that the client feels very well in our salons and leaves satisfied with his/her hairdo. Naturally we create his/her hairdo, the proper form and colour  in colaboration with the client.

Győző Krizsán (HU)

Inspiration: impression, creativity, atmosphere and show

It was already clear when he was a child that he would be a hairdresser. After his professional exams he plunged into professional life. For professional development and also to fulfill a desire for adventure, he attended seminars, presentations, master courses and salons in the US, Britain and Italy. He opened his first hair studio in 1984. He participated in numerous events and continues to do so. Every year he creates a new hair collection that he presents in professional training seminars, shows, and magazines. His first memorable independent work was in 1985 in the Young Artists’ Club, for which he was congratulated by, among others, Tamás Király, the most important avantgarde designer of the time. He went on to bring his first hair theater production to the stage with his creative partner István Pokrivtsák, which told the Hungarian folk tale of Ludas Matyi through hairstyles. He developed his own system called the KRI-SAN SYSTEM in 1990. He earned his master’s qualification in 1992. After opening and operating several salons, he decided to concentrate on an extraordinary salon salution. At the beginning of the new century he built his unique creative studio, the first hairdressing ship floating on the beautiful panorama of the Danube. In 2010 he opened a new salon in Budapest’s newest hotel, in the front of the exclusive Hotel President. In addition to his professional work he also focuses on environmental protection, and with this goal in mind he founded and organizes the Pearl of Danube Beauty, Beautification and Fashion Show. Young hairdressers, makeup artists and fashion designers compete and show their creativity in this competition (www.pearlofdanube.hu).
He sees his work as art. He feels lucky to have been one of the avant-garde artists of the new age in the hairdressing profession.
